The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long-term care facility located in beautiful Wilmore, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is responsible for caring for the residents of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Performs nursing duties under direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
- Administers medication and treatments as prescribed.
- Collects assessment data and cares for our veterans within the scope of the LPN clinical skills.

This job requires mandatory COVID 19 vaccination or an approved exemption in accordance with CMS-3415-IFC from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This means if appointed to the position, the applicant must have completed the primary vaccination series for COVID-19, which means the administration of a single-dose vaccine or the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine upon commencement of employment. The vaccine received must be one of the FDA-approved or FDA-authorized vaccines. Proof of vaccination will be required. If a medical or religious exemption is sought, the candidate must submit paperwork to the employer prior to appointment for review and approval.
This position,in the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center Nursing Services Department, in Jessamine County has an approved Locality Premium of $14.67 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1). Locality Premium is in addition to the starting base pay of $13.33, which would result in a total hourly pay of $28.00/ hours worked.
