The Key Responsibilities of this position.


The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for providing support to Nellis Auction Operations by driving continuous improvement to operational processes, vetting new automation and technology, and optimizing our facility layouts and designs.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Analyzing Operations: Assess existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reductions. This may involve conducting time and motion studies, process flow analysis, and value stream mapping. Research ergonomic and safety considerations relevant to the Nellis Auction work environment and make improvement recommendations to Management.
  • Workforce Planning: Determine the most effective allocation of human resources, considering factors such as labor requirements, skill sets, and capacity planning. Develop staffing models and optimization strategies to enhance productivity.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze operational data, such as production rates, cycle times, and resource utilization, to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Utilize statistical tools and software to generate meaningful insights for business leaders.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analyses and financial evaluations to identify cost-saving opportunities. Develop and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining or improving product or service quality.
  • Project Management: Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvement projects and facilitate the opening of new Nellis Auction locations. Coordinate project timelines, resources, and deliverables to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Establish, draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to facilitate maximum production efficiency in a variety of warehouse/order fulfillment functions.
  • New Facility Launches: Work directly with new-location launch teams to optimize operational design and layout.
  • Capital Planning: Assist with developing capital improvement projects and budgets by vetting business requirements and ROI calculations.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to Maintenance, Operations, and IT within each facility as needed during down time events or technical deployments.
  • Expansion Planning: Work with Senior Operations Leadership to understand the operational impact of future growth plans and assist with growth planning.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (or related field of study) Strongly Preferred
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in a warehouse logistics environment
  • Experience with automation and industrial equipment (i.e. racking, forklifts, conveyors, robotics)
  • Experience with operations and distribution planning
  • Proficient in CAD, MS Office Suite
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, MS Access, and/or Visio
  • Frequent Travel is required
  • Warehouse Management Experience is required
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Excellent Organizational skills and ability to manage many projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Solid understanding of general manufacturing and production processes
  • Must possess critical thinking skills, be an active listener and work proactively
  • Candidate must have sound judgment and decision making skills
