Opportunity
SPAN is seeking to hire a Human Resources Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff, managing personnel, benefits, and enforcing organizational policies and practices, and keeping abreast of regulatory requirements. The HR Manager will help promote an organizational culture that encourages morale and high-quality performance. They will advise on important decisions regarding staff benefits and wellness, personnel policies and practices, and strategies to maintain and expand employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the talent acquisition process to recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new staff.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to understand the skills and competencies required for open positions.
  • Manage daily functions of the HR Department.
  • Oversee completion of annual performance evaluations.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal and external professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Oversee staff disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Maintain employee and workplace privacy.
  • Maintain confidential employee records including payroll documentation.
  • Maintain and report on workplace health and safety compliance.
  • Partner with the management team to coordinate implementation and revision of personnel policies and practices to ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Meet with Management Team as required.
  • Attend professional meetings related to organizational activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of HR issues of particular importance to non-profit organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Smartsheet, or project management software
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the goals of the organization and to equity and social justice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
