POSITION OVERVIEW


The Hotel Shop Facilities Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the hotel to ensure that it is safe, well-maintained, and in good working order. They are also responsible for managing budgets, supervising staff, and coordinating with other departments to ensure that the facility's needs are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Manage the daily operation of the hotel shop, including maintenance and repair, monitoring job performance, and providing corrective action notices to tower engineers and lighting technicians as required
  • Responsible for producing productivity reports for all Members within the Hotel Shop segment
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs, including preventative maintenance, to ensure the facility is well-maintained and in good working order
  • Manage the repair and replacement of equipment, systems, and structures related to the hotel shop's operation
  • Manage contractor relationships and supervise the work of outside contractors
  • Manage budgets and expenses related to the hotel shop
  • Develop emergency plans and procedures and coordinate emergency response efforts as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of the hotel shop operations and expenses
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that the facility's needs are met
  • Responsible for the supervision and scheduling of all hotel shop members
  • Ensure that all FF&E items, equipment and repair items are in stock and order as necessary
  • Create written specifications and secure bids for services in accordance with established bid process
  • Provide a current Nevada Motor Vehicle Report every 6 months
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3) years prior experience in Facilities/Engineering for a large-scale resort and casino
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and heating appliances preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Proven experience/knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Must display and maintain a sense of urgency regarding all Casino business
  • Handles multiple tasks and works a variety of shifts necessary to complete assigned projects
  • Knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
  • Must have good computer skills to maneuver within computer programs on a network, including working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Must be able to maintain a monthly budget within the limits provided by the Director
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to handle independent work responsibility and with good judgment
  • Have working knowledge in the maintenance and operations of refrigerator systems
  • Ability to actively influence and drive collaboration with individuals or groups at various levels within and outside of the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry Statutes and Regulations
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • Knowledge of safe working practices for the maintenance trades, including regulatory requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high-quality service levels
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly, and communicate clearly
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises positions including but not limited to engineers, plumbers, and welders.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, This Member is also required to transport, push, pull, and maneuver items weighing up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
