Position Title: Track Head Coach

Location: T. A. Dugger Jr. High

Qualifications: Must have considerable knowledge of the sport, rules, coaching techniques, etc. which would likely be gained by a combination of participation, prior experience, and study. Prior participation in the sport required or sufficient involvement that demonstrates a level of basic knowledge. Prior coaching experience is desired but not required. Availability for and time commitment may include, but not be limited to the following: pre-season planning, meetings, practices after school, questions during school hours, competition, & some weekends.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement practice plans for middle school track team
• Train and instruct athletes on proper techniques and skills
• Plan and execute track meets and competitions
• Manage team equipment and facilities
• Monitor athlete performance and provide feedback for improvement
• Foster a positive team culture and encourage sportsmanship
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and athletic administration regarding team updates and progress
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions

Other Requirements:

• Prior experience coaching track at the middle school level
• Knowledge of track and field rules and regulations
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to motivate and inspire athletes
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Availability to attend all track meets and practices, including some weekends and evenings.
• Fulfill the above duties and requirements and any other duties as assigned.

Capacity and Ability Requirements:

This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 25 lbs. or the weight of an average child, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Other

physical demands that may be required are as follows: pushing and/or pulling; climbing; stooping and/or kneeling; reaching; talking; hearing; seeing.
