Job Description
Cooperative Education (Co-op) or Summer Internship Student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. The student will work in support of the engineering department by applying knowledge from academic studies. This person will interface with project engineers, test labs, production manufacturing facilities, and several internal engineering groups. The student will work under close supervision to learn about aspects of engineering that they can apply after graduation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support engineers on various rear drive axle projects.
- Perform engineering analysis necessary to help sustaining rear drive axle engineering team. This will include the use of CAE tools such as Creo, Simulate, Ansys, etc.
- Support all aspects of sustaining engineering to meet customer requirements with focus on warranty reduction, product design to improve production through-put, test plans and prototype builds.
- Work with designers to update and release detailed drawing packages.
- Establish good working relationships with team members, outside suppliers, and various internal groups at a production facility.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of vehicular drivetrain components and their application.
- Basic technical understanding of vehicle performance criteria.
- MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- General understanding of static analysis, and familiar with fundamentals of dynamic and kinematic studies.
