Job Summary We are searching for an experienced Pet Groomer to join the team to expand our veterinary practice to include grooming. As a Pet Groomer, you will bathe and clip dogs according to breed-specific standards and owner preferences. You will also trim nails, clean ears, detangle hair and generally ensure that pets look and feel their best. A successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning pet beds and cages, grooming dogs, cats, and other animals, and keeping the grooming area clean. This position is ideal for an individual who has previous experience in a pet grooming environment, enjoys working with animals, has a strong work ethic, and is capable of promoting positive relationships between animals and owners. Responsibilities

• Brush and detangle or remove matted fur
• Bathe dogs and dry coat
• Execute a variety of clipping techniques and style requests
• Examine for parasites or other skin conditions
• Trim nails
• Ensure the safety of dogs at all times
• Adhere to strict sanitary and cleaning procedures
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dog groomer
• Comfortable working with anxious animals
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift large dogs over 60 pounds
• Willingness to learn new techniques and participate in continuing education
• Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and dog owners
• Strong attention to detail
