The North American Industrials, Chemicals and Materials (ICM) sales team within the Payments division of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) is a strategic sales and relationship management focused group that is responsible for owning and managing Global relationships with large corporates headquartered in North America. The team works to effectively deliver the firm's Payments solutions (treasury services, merchant services, trade & working capital, commercial card) to our evolving client base.

We are looking for a Payments Sales Associate to join our North American ICM sales team. As a Payments Sales Associate you will be responsible for supporting Payments Sales Managers (PSM) with sales efforts on our largest ICM clients and the day-to-day relationship support of clients in the segment. This includes supporting proactive client engagement, collaboration with multiple internal partners, and development of solutions to meet strategic and complex needs of our corporate clients. You will also support important relationship management initiatives such as billing and pricing, interest rate management, escalation tracking and resolution, etc. As such, the role involves working closely with Corporate Banking, Merchant Services, Working Capital & Trade, Client Service and Implementations and other Product teams to ensure the appropriate coordination in support of the defined segments and client opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Sales assistance: help grow the portfolio
  • Assist PSM's with the management of cross-functional/regional deals - support new bids by coordinating with product partners to develop solutions, understand/build pricing and profitability models, support RFP/RFI submissions, prepare client research, pitch materials, etc.
  • Gain a firm understanding of clients Treasury and Payments objectives and build a deep understanding of client ecosystem.
  • Develop account plans, briefing memos and support relationship reviews in partnership with the client service organization; understand the client's account structure, cash flow, product usage and global setup
  • Develop strong relationships within client's Treasury organizations - anticipate client needs/challenges and proactively engage appropriate J.P. Morgan Payments partners to develop comprehensive solutions

Account management assistance: support and maintain existing business through high level of client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate/negotiate KYC and onboarding documentation, internal credit processes, and help manage seamless integration with implementation partners - engage appropriate escalation points where necessary to meet client needs while managing expectations
  • Review and analyze transactional data to identify key trends, risks, pricing/billing inefficiencies and conduct pricing analysis and provide go forward strategy/recommendations
  • Think outside the box, identify new ways to advance team wide initiatives, and contribute as the voice of the client in cross-functional partner engagement to ensure alignment with broader firm wide interests and the client's objectives

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 2 + years experience in cash management, transaction banking, merchant acquiring or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex problems into concise conclusions
  • Goal oriented with the ability to foster innovation and solve problems creatively
  • Strong time management, organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently with keen attention to follow-up coordination
  • Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • BA/BS
