Job Description

We are supporting a multinational, global leader in product development and manufacturing with its need for a Director of Operations at its Garland, TX facility.

Individuals in this role will oversee the operational strategy and efficient daily operations in the manufacturing facility for performance results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, customer service and employee engagement. This is achieved implementing best-in-class manufacturing practices across training, documentation, production, inventory accuracy and delivering new products in accordance with Customer initiatives.

Qualifications/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to supervise the HS&E Compliance of the Operation to prevent recordable accidents of environmental violations
  • Manage the operation customer service expectations, within established expected efficiencies achieving operation targets
  • Monitor labor efficiency and propose actions to improve the metrics in all aspects
  • Delivers production schedule on time and within required guidelines agreed with the Customer
  • Material control and inventory management delivering expected consumption / delta BOM within agreed or better scrap rates for operations.
  • Develops a formal and detailed training plan to be followed by operations for new hires and internal growth promotions. Monitors knowledge on standards is adequate and delivers expected outcomes.
  • Ensures that all employees respect and follow the procedures regarding safety, health, environment and quality, and actively participates to the improvement of the Quality, Safety and Environment system in the area of his/her competence.
  • Strengthen the adoption of a Lean Manufacturing culture, in coordination with group efforts across all operating sites. Foster a continuous improvement/Kaizen culture to drive improvements in operating and financial performance of the site.

Requirements:
  • Have a bachelors degree from an accredited university.
  • At least four years of managerial experience in the production processes working for a multinational company.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in cosmetics, pharmaceutical or laundry care, with high speed and agile filing and packaging systems.
