Located on the downtown Orlando campus, Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) has served the Central Florida area for more than 100 years. The Department Secretary performs diverse secretarial and/or administrative duties for a large department or professional group.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Answers phone calls, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
- Screens calls and visitors.
- Operates copy machine and fax machine.
- Distributes incoming mail.
- Orders supplies.
- Establishes and maintains files and records on an ongoing basis.
- Researches and analyzes routine questions.
- Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments.
- Organizes meetings including distributing materials, arranging for refreshments, transcribing minutes and making travel arrangements if necessary.
- Types routine correspondence, reports, special projects, technical papers, etc., usually from written copy.
- Prepares charts, graphs, etc. for presentations.
- Tracks progress of special projects.
- May assist in preparing and/or monitoring budget.
- Performs routine problem solving.
- Works with information that may be of a confidential nature.
- Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
- May have limited access to areas storing medications.
- Uses moderate discretion; works under general supervision.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.
- Prioritizes work load to manage multiple priorities.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, and workshops.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and/or database software, preferably Microsoft Office-based products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Licensure/Certification
- None required.
- Certification in Microsoft Office-based products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) preferred.
Experience
- Two years clerical or secretarial experience.
