8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, plus occasional extended afternoon hours

Full Job Description

  • Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of menu items within a given time frame as outlined or as instructed by the manager.
  • Prepare meals/snacks for children and staff. Distribute food to the classrooms following appropriate health and safety guidelines, and policies.
  • Follow the daily menu provided by the Director which incorporates USDA/CACFP, licensing and/or health department regulations.
  • Follow standardized recipes to cook and prepare meals and be able to increase or decrease quantity with accuracy.
  • Perform all tasks within a given time frame and serve classrooms with a reasonable degree of speed.
  • Assist in the clean-up process (putting food away, washing pots and pans, sweeping and mopping, putting stock away, carrying trash out, etc.).
  • Demonstrate sound safety and sanitation practices.
  • Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
  • Present an image of professionalism by following department guidelines for personal hygiene and dress code.
  • Recognize and complete tasks without supervision.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and be willing to perform any additional duties as assigned by the manager.
