Caregiver/Monitor – US Border Patrol

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Job Summary: US Border Patrol is looking for a successful caregivers, who will perform the duties and responsibilities for Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) and Family Units (FMUA). The caregiver shall maintain a safe environment, observing and encouraging adherence to safety rules and health guidelines. This will include assisting with the general care of children performed at a level of quality and according to industry safety standards commensurate with those required of caregivers employed at state-licensed daycare facilities.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Not required. Will train in the following skills: personal care and toileting for children; basic hygiene and basic infection control; maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment; basic first aid and basic emergency procedures; understanding abuse and neglect.
  • Additional Certifications: CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • License: Not required.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Individuals performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents.
  • Language Requirement: Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.
  • Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

HOURS:

12 Hour shifts (3.5 Days a week). Day and night shifts available. Facilities operate on a 24/7 schedule.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must have a valid State ID and the ability to pass a background check. Minimum age of 18 years old. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (fluently). Must be able to perform vigorous physical activity (bending, standing, walking, sitting, etc.) for extended periods and to lift up to 40 lbs. The ability to hear and see well enough to monitor children and keep them safe at all times is essential.
