ABC News' GMA3 has an opening for a dynamic Associate Producer. The team is looking for an AP that is passionate about news, health, lifestyle, and human-interest stories. The AP will collaborate and support producers working on both tape and on-air live segments. The AP is also responsible for generating ideas, sourcing video, working under tight deadline, pressure and responding to breaking news.

Responsibilities:

• Produce a variety of stories including reporting, writing, cutting video and making graphics.
• Proactively work to help team identify and address problems quickly when they arise. Able work with on-air talent, from a producing/writing perspective.
• Work in a high-pressure, fast-paced control room.
• Show initiative to produce content while also working collaboratively as a team.

• Edit VOs, SOTs, PKG STRINGOUTS for day of air show in a high pressure setting with fast turnaround times.
• Assist producers and editors with transcribing interviews and ingesting elements for packages.
• Pitch news, entertainment, lifestyle and national stories.
• Use editorial judgment and knowledge of current events, social media, sports, and pop culture to create VOs for on-air scripted content.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience producing in a digital, streaming or broadcast environment.
• Prior video production experience in a fast-paced environment and an understanding of the current digital landscape of live streaming.
• A willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnights and weekends and thrive under daily deadline pressures.

Required Education:

• BA or BS from a 4-year accredited college or university or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in New York is $56,400- $77,550 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
