JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Assistant Director of Graduate Employer Relations supports the employability of Smeal graduate students (MBA, specialty Master’s programs) by collaborating with the Senior Director of Graduate Employer Relations, the Director of Graduate Career Services, the undergraduate employer relations team, and the Executive Director of the Smeal Business Career Center.
The Assistant Director will provide hands-on consultation to Graduate Corporate Partner companies, including facilitating partnership benefits and onboarding new Partners while actively soliciting new relationships benefiting both employers and students. The role will include a focus on new business development internationally and within niche areas. The Assistant Director will also provide logistical and administrative support to enable employers to host and promote on-campus events, interviews, and post jobs successfully to targeted Penn State students and track all data related to recruitment, including graduate outcomes. This role also requires strategic collaboration with Smeal Alumni Relations to build on the alumni/employer base and execute new mentorship opportunities as a team. As a member of the larger Business Career Center team, the Assistant Director may help facilitate career coaching during peak times, lead professional development workshops, source important resources, and manage student programs, including the Beta Gamma Sigma business honors society.
Typical requirements of this position are a Masters degree or higher in counseling or a related discipline and three years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires the ability to think creatively and strategically while balancing diverse needs. An emphasis on communication to both internal and external parties is necessary for success. Experience in sales, business development and/or client relationship management preferred. Previous experience with Symplicity, Salesforce, and other CRM a plus. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
