General Summary:
The AP Business Analyst is an Enterprise analyst role supporting shrink improvement for both Dollar Tree and Family Dollar Banners. The analyst is expected to analyze large data sets to isolate trend and business opportunities, conduct advanced modeling and build solutions and recommendations to drive performance improvement for Asset Protection Shrink performance.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis using data collected & combined from multiple data sources to provide actionable recommendations for shrink improvement
  • Responsible for developing and delivering effective, interactive presentations and reporting solutions for AP, operational & merchant leaders
  • Partner with operational leaders and stakeholders to conceptualize business issues and translate into an appropriate analytic format to drive action.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities and coordinating projects across Asset Protection teams.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in advanced data analytics, statistical modeling, and quantitative analytical techniques.
  • Deliver reporting for weekly & monthly basis covering inventory performance
  • Support ad hoc data and analysis requests from leadership teams in Ops/AP/Merchandising departments.
  • Lead shrink class & risk class level analysis of stores
  • Lead Test/Learn strategy for product protection/technology including store selection, roll out, and measurement using APT
Major Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Perform data gathering tasks and analytics
  • Identify trends, develop solutions, project planning and data analysis
  • Produce monthly shrink scorecard and exceptions reports for field AP teams and leadership to review and utilize.
  • Deliver presentations to teams and executive leaders and sponsors.
  • Synthesize findings and make recommendations to upper management.
  • Build skills and knowledge including self-development, team knowledge and customer (internal) knowledge
  • Continuous improvement in all analysis & reporting to fine tune action items
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, MBA preferred and 2-3 years’ experience in analytical role
  • Strong computer skills (Expert Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Experience leveraging business intelligence/query tools (SQL, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, APT)
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
